If by bus, take bus 22 or 23 from Waikiki.

When you reach the cape, continue on the trail course and follow the gravel road that extends to the right, marked by a sign that reads "KA'IWI SCENIC SHORELINE".

You can reach Pele's chair in about 10 minutes on foot.

This is where I would like to introduce you to Kualoa Regional Park.

You will have a wonderful time in a spot that combines beauty and tranquility.

 

Spectacular view point

Kualoa Regional Park is located across from Kualoa Ranch.

From the beach, the shadow of the distinctive island known as Chinaman's Hat can be seen beyond the sea, and the beach and ocean views are very good.

Yet, because it is not a very touristy area, the beach is visited mainly by local residents.

There is also a grassy area by the beach where you can relax and unwind, so if you want to spend some time without being too busy and avoiding the popular crowd, this is a highly recommended spot.

 

Access

To get there by rental car, take the H1 freeway from Waikiki, then take the Likelike Highway and Kahekili Highway.

Eventually you will see Chinaman's Hat toward the ocean and the entrance to Kualoa Regional Park on your right.

If you are going by bus, take bus #55 from Ala Moana Center.

If you continue to ride the bus, you can get to the bus stop in front of Kualoa Regional Park.

 

Makapuu Cape

Next I would like to introduce you to Cape Makapuu, which is very close to Pele's chair mentioned above.

Cape Makapuu is located on the eastern tip of Oahu and is well known by both locals and tourists alike for its scenic views.

Tantalus Hill is characterized by the fact that it looks different at different times of the day and night.

The hill was created by a volcanic eruption in the past, and since the slope faces south, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the area during the daytime, illuminated by the bright sunlight.

While beautiful enough on its own, Tantalus Hill really comes into its own at night.
